Bay Area Connections was founded in 1990 in San Jose, California by Bob Teixeira. In those early years, we serviced the major RBOCs with transmission, switching, and central office circuit boards and testing.

Bay Area Connection moved to Sparks, Nevada in 1991. Because of a better tax environment, superior logistics and transportation options we could pass that savings to our customers.

In 1992, Bay Area Connections became certified as a MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) Company with The State of Nevada and the Cordova Clearing House in California. It symbolizes our commitment to business practices and ethics regardless of race, creed or ethnic origin.

In 2004 Bay Area Connections reorganized and began doing business as Sierra Nevada Telecom and received ISO 9001:2000 registration. In this organization, Sierra Nevada Telecom expanded our warehousing, inventory and marketing efforts to serve LEC, CLECs, and ILEC's.

We then began contractual agreements with major telecommunications companies to receive, inventory and manage their asset recovery operations.
